The Most Popular Van Powered System in The World

The concept behind the design of the CDS™ is to provide a powerful, reliable cleaning system that uses the power and heat source already provided by the host vehicle. The rugged and reliable engineering that has, for over two decades, made the CDS the most popular van powered system in the industry is taken to a new level with the CDS 4.8 Overdrive.

New power train and drive technology has boosted vacuum performance by 25%, while lowering fuel consumption 25% to 30%. Operation costs are reduced! The Tuthill 4007 Dominator™ Tri-Lobe Blower ensures maximum power and very low vibration. The blower is easy to service with oil bath lubrication at both ends and easy to see oil sight level windows and has a 2 year warranty.

The CDS 4.8 is Tile and grout cleaning ready with a 0- 1200 PSI 15.9 LPM (4.2 GPM) Cat Pump with Electric pump clutch for flood restoration as standard. 2000psi pressure washing option available.

Finally, a van-powered machine that can keep up with the heat exchanger slide-in units! The Salsa heating system keeps you in the heat even when using 2 wands or a high-production tool like an RX-20™.

The CDS 4.8 is equipped with HydraMaster’s Chemical Pulse Pump. Last-Step Chemical Injection means no chemicals pass through the water pump or heat exchangers.

The CDS 4.8 has all of the advantages of a powerful dual wand truckmount while preserving your valuable cargo space.

The 4.8's large capacity 378 Litre (100 gallon) recovery tank delivers the convenience of continued, uninterrupted cleaning.  Incorporates MaxAir Recovery & Separation technology maxair2_sml.jpg

Why buy a CDS instead of a Slide In?

1. Space Savings: Only 35cm of side door cargo space is needed. The rest is open for tanks, reels, air movers or whatever you need to transport. With space being an issue for water damage restoration contractors, the CDS is a hot seller! There is more space to store your air movers and dehumidifiers.

2. Less Maintenance: A Slide In has a built in engine while the CDS uses the van’s engine for operation. This reduces maintenance. The CDS also generates less external heat compared to a Slide In thereby increasing component life.

3. Quiet Operation: While a Slide-In needs to be operated with the van doors open, the CDS (with the use of the hose pass thru-kit or external hookup option) can be operated with the doors shut, reducing the noise. The CDS is great for operating at night and in noise sensitive areas. This same feature addresses the issue of security while operating in questionable areas.

4. Fuel Economy: While many feel the van engine uses a lot of fuel, the truth is that a Toyota Hiace Turbo Dies running just above idle uses about the same amount of fuel as a typical mid-sized slide in. At about 3.5 LPH the fuel consumption of the CDS really is an economical.

5. Long Lasting: With fewer parts, lower surrounding temperatures and easier upkeep, a well maintained CDS will be around creating income for years to come.

Common CDS Misconceptions

1. Doesn’t the CDS wear out the van quickly?

While it is true the van engine is running during the cleaning operation, it is barely above an idle and is turning a minimal load, much less than if just driving down a level road at a moderate speed. We know of many CDS equipped vehicles with in excess of 400,000km on the original engine.

2. If the van is damaged, it is easy to move a Slide-In into another vehicle to continue using it while the van is being repaired?

While it may be easier to move a Slide-In than a CDS, it is by no means easy. Although this has happened a few times over the years, it is unusual to remove a machine to repair a van and this presumes that you have a spare van ready and waiting. In truth, it rarely happens.
