To those whom have generously contributed their time, efforts & funds,
Today (20 Jan 2010) I was able to make full payment for my surgery (Deep Brain Stimulation) that is to take place on the 1st of February. To aid in the control of some of my symptoms of Parkinson’s disease. On behalf of my wife Sarah and my kids I would like to sincerely send all our thanks, appreciation and gratitude to all those that has made this surgery possible.
I want you to know the significance of what your generous donations has meant for me and my young family. Parkinson’s disease is a progressive neurological disease that affects every facet of the patient’s life. For me I have trouble moving my limbs, keeping them still, talking and recently even breathing has been difficult. They say it's an old person’s disease, but increasingly it is affecting younger and younger people. I know there is a 21 year old girl in NSW that also has it. For those of us younger suffers with young families it is a double edge sword. Making it impossible to work and earn an income to support a growing family as the disease progresses..
This surgery has a good chance of giving me and my family a second chance at life. So truly I cannot tell you how deeply thankful we are to all of you. I would especially like to thank Paul Dixon from Absolute Perfection Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning, who really spear headed this campaign and who so generously gave his time and energy to - as has he puts it "help a mate" is an act of kindness that I think denotes the heart of a man. Also our deep thanks goes to Nick Bredhauer from Carpet Cleaners Warehouse in Granville who made the unusual decision to use his company’s web site as a tool to spread the word.
I'm a great believer in what goes around comes around, and I am convinced that for all of you who have given from your hearts that nothing but good can come back to you, your business and your families. I'm also a great believer in prayer and have been praying for each of you and your families. I hope that God continues to bless each of you.
Thank you
